Where It All Began

Money Helpdesk began life as the mortgage comparison service, Teito, in early 2021 before we rebranded and expanded our offering into other areas of financial services, such as pensions, estate planning and business finance.

The website was launched by the people behind Echo Finance, an acclaimed, whole-of-market mortgage brokerage trusted by over 250,000 people since 2012, and is now a thriving network of mortgage brokers, financial advisers and business experts.

We founded Money Helpdesk with the aim of taking the stress out of the mortgage journey, allowing customers to quickly connect with a broker online and acccess whole-of-market rates comparison and expert advice at the click of a button.

Since relaunching as Money Helpdesk in 2025, we have applied this same formula to other areas of finance including pensions, investments and commercial finance to offer our customers a complete service that covers all of their monetary needs.

Editorial Policy

The articles you will find on our website were carefully crafted to provide you with helpful information before you speak to your adviser. You will find everything from the latest criteria information, to how to apply for specific products on Money Helpdesk.

Our content was written by writers who specialise in financial services copy, and is then reviewed by one of our mortgage brokers or financial advisers to ensure it’s fully accurate and compliant, and that all of the criteria information we are providing is up to date.

The content of our articles does not constitute financial advice, and should be viewed as background information to help prepare you for a finance application.

Frequently Asked Questions

If the type of finance you need advice on is regulated, such as a residential mortgage or pension, you will be assigned an adviser who is CeMAP, DipPFS or equivalently qualified.

Some of the financial products our team advise on are unregulated, such as commercial mortgages. Our brokers for this type of finance also hold industry-standard mortgage qualifications but have the flexibility to arrange bespoke, flexible deals.

Our mortgage brokers and financial advisers would be more than happy to show you their credentials on request if this would give you peace of mind.

The mortgage brokers on our team help customers who are looking for various types of home finance, including mortgages, bridging loans, second charge mortgages, and some of our brokers hold additional qualifications to advise on products like equity release.

Our independent financial advisers specialise in pensions, investments and general financial advice, but some of them can also advise on mortgages too, which comes in useful for customers who need advice on home finance as well as other monetary matters.

Or mortgage rates comparison service and your first consultation with a mortgage broker or financial adviser is always free with no obligation to take things further.

During this initial chat, your adviser will outline what they can do for you and how much it will cost if you do choose to proceed. You will never be charged up front for our services and will only receive a bill when we have helped you achieve your objective.

Your adviser’s number one aim will be to ensure you are in pocket overall, with every fee factored in. In other words, the money they save you will be more than the cost of their fee.

Think carefully before securing other debts against your home. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or any other debt secured on it.

If you are thinking of consolidating existing borrowing you should be aware that you may be extending the terms of the debt and increasing the total amount you repay.
